Boots have been occupying a large portion of my brain space for the past two months of chilly weather. Specifically black boots. I'm kind of sick of my jeans and sweater uniform and have moved onto a black leggings and dress or skirt uniform. And ballet flats just don't cut it in rainy 51 degree weather. I need warm black boots and I need them STAT! I don't need to spend a couple of hundred bucks on boots right now though, so most of this boot-storming has been theoretical.
Number one on the love list are the Franco Sarto Telluride boots. Oh, cute.
But then I also am completely in love with these. Talk about cosy.
I live in my shearling boots around the house this time of year. I think these would feel like a permanent ski vacation! Doug is voting for these ones.
I also love these Frye's but they are double what I would possibly be able to bring myself to spend.
I have a job interview though in ONE week from today. (Excuse me while I freak out - I hate being on the spot like that. But I really want the job.) The interview is in a cold and snowy locale. I'm pretty sure it will be freezing and pretty sure that I should not wear dress flats or I might lose some toes. I need to buy a suit. It seems obvious that I need to wear black BOOTS with this as-yet-unknown suit! My feet will be warm. I will look put together.
I don't think the Telluride's quite fit the bill though. Too western. I probably need something more along the lines of these:
I'm not usually big on heels though. I'm a comfort lady. Maybe I just need some plain old black leather riding boots. Nothing too fancy. Something kind of versatile. Nothing like trying to find a boot to fit my many moods and needs. I just went to Imelda's this morning (the BEST shoe store on earth). They had about 5 times more boots than they normally do. The ones most perfect for an interview were not available in black. The ones I liked the most were sort of modern with a curved toe and probably are too casual. They were insanely comfortable though!
Maybe I should get the suit first. And keep debating. And try Nordstrom.
